Amy Sackman Quilting Website Re-Design

Role: UX / UI Designer + Developer
Amy needed new eyes on her custom quilting site, so as to better reach her clients and showcase her work. She already had the materials online, but the site was not easy for her users to engage with. I stepped in to assist with the redesign, testing new features with users along the way and giving the UI a full makeover.

This project is ongoing. I intend to lay out my progress along the way.

UI Screens: Home, About Me, T-Shirt Quilt Gallery

To start, I redesigned three key pages, the home, "about me," and gallery screens.

Mood Board

Amy gave me adjectives for the ideal 'feel' of the site: creative, clean, bright, accessible, easy to navigate.
Using those descriptors, I researched other artist sites and created a mood board.

Style Tile

Based on a blend of competitive and user research, I updated the navigation bar to make it more intuitive, chose and paired fonts (Avenir Next and Palatino), and created the color palette below (clean, with pops of color).
